Overview

As a Utilities Energy Transition Consultant, you will help clients navigate the energy transition by applying structured problem-solving, analytical rigor, and innovative technologies. You work with a diverse utilities client base to deliver data‑driven consulting and implement new operating models and business ideas. You’ll collaborate across geographies and teams to drive measurable impact in low-carbon power and energy systems. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies and a mission-focused, collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

  • Understand client challenges and guide them through energy transition success
  • Apply structured, innovative problem-solving to craft solutions
  • Deliver data-driven consulting with strong quantitative insights
  • Recommend and deploy innovative technologies to answer client questions
  • Leverage financial analysis and market data to draw insights
  • Project manage using Agile, Lean, and Design Thinking methods
  • Utilize relationship and stakeholder management to achieve team goals
  • Communicate clearly in written, spoken, and presentation formats

Key requirements

  • Strong utilities industry experience (generation, transmission & distribution, electric vehicles, or retail energy)
  • Broad knowledge of global power/energy markets in low-carbon transition context
  • Technical understanding of low-carbon asset development and operations
  • Experience collaborating with technical and engineering stakeholders to drive operational excellence
  • Experience designing new business models or transforming operating models and capability mapping
  • Expert knowledge in specific energy system elements (e.g., gas to hydrogen, balancing markets)
  • Understanding of UK regulatory environment and ability to analyze market changes
