Overview

As an Associate Project Controls Consultant, you will manage and deliver project controls for infrastructure programs, translating financial data into actionable insights. You’ll join the Integrated Programme Controls team to implement PMO best practices and support cost and schedule control across projects. You’ll work with data, baselines, and forecasts to drive project performance and funding alignment. This role offers exposure to large-scale infrastructure programs and the chance to shape cost governance and reporting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver tangible outcomes for clients and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver project controls for programs and clients, focusing on budget and forecast costs
  • Support business and project delivery across all aspects of controls
  • Prepare revised cost forecasts and trend analyses; assist in reviewing contractor invoices
  • Maintain cost/schedule baselines and perform basic critical path analysis and rescheduling concepts
  • Monitor earned value data and track variances, changes, and funding alignment
  • Lead or assist in cost review meetings and project reporting
  • Assist in procedure development and implementation for controls
  • Guide junior staff through assignments and manage action tracking

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or project controls/management qualification (APMG Planning and Controls, Prince2, RICS, APM, MICE, CIOB)
  • Experience in cost control or planning & scheduling in multi-discipline infrastructure projects
  • Experience implementing Earned Value Management-based project control systems
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project or similar planning software, and PowerBI
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial position documentation
  • Ability to travel and work across sectors
  • Strong people management and task facilitation skills
  • Understanding of engineering and construction management and current project management methodologies
