Overview

In this role you will join Ashfords’ Marine team as an experienced lawyer, contributing to a Tier-1 port and harbour practice. You will handle port and marine matters across litigation, regulatory, commercial, and development work, taking on significant responsibility from day one. You will work within a supportive team, building strong client relationships and contributing to business development. Responsibilities

  • Advise on port and marine-related issues across litigation, regulatory, commercial/logistics, and development matters
  • Manage significant client work with high responsibility from the outset
  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks
  • Contribute to business development and industry presence
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team to support clients and projects
  • Support clients through regulatory and compliance matters as part of the ports sector
  • Maintain high levels of client care and technical quality
  • Adapt to a high-volume, expanding workload

Key requirements

  • Experience in port/marine law (PQE ideally 7+ years)
  • Strong technical knowledge and client-relations skills
  • Dual qualification in Scotland is a plus (nice to have)
  • Proven ability to work in a successful team and handle pressure
