Overview
In this role you will support the Contracts and Procurement Team to drive system transformation and best practice, delivering commissioning objectives across Primary, Community, Mental Health, Learning Disability and Acute Care. You will act as the key link between provider selection and strategic commissioning, ensuring compliant procurement and market management aligned with NHS priorities. You will shape service specifications, standards, and outcomes to deliver value for money and service improvement, operating in a cross-functional, collaborative NHS environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee provider selection and commercial activity within budget to maximise outcomes for LNR patients
- Ensure provider selection aligns with PSR guidance, Procurement Act requirements and local governance
- Manage market engagement to reflect service needs and organisational objectives
- Lead and support innovative commissioning and contracting models for the ICB Cluster
- Develop and manage staff to deliver high-quality, professional procurement and commercial service
Key requirements
- Master’s level education or equivalent experience
- Demonstrable knowledge of PSR, public procurement legislation, NHS commissioning arrangements and public sector governance
- Proven leadership experience
- Post-qualifying professional development
- Understanding of healthcare policy and its engagement implications
- MCIPS or equivalent procurement qualification
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to senior stakeholders
- Ability to identify risks, plan and deliver on time
