Overview
As a Senior EICA Design Engineer in our MEICA team, you will lead ICA-focused design for water and wastewater assets across the UK. You’ll deliver technically robust solutions while aligning with budgets, schedules, and client expectations, and you’ll actively promote Arcadis’ services. The role offers long-term framework work, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and an opportunity to shape resilient water infrastructure. You’ll demonstrate design leadership and expand client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead ICA design phases (concept to detail) for instrumentation, control, and automation systems including PLC/SCADA and MCCs
- Deliver multi-disciplinary, technically sound designs for water and wastewater plants, pumping stations, and ancillary assets
- Provide design leadership with focus on safety, quality, and compliance with standards
- Coordinate and mentor multi-disciplinary teams (process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, ICA)
- Develop and review technical documentation (URS/FDS, I/O schedules, wiring diagrams, datasheets)
- Attend factory acceptance tests and oversee inspection, testing, and commissioning activities for ICA equipment
- Manage client relationships and project progress, aligning with client requirements and asset standards
- Promote MEICA capabilities internally and externally, contributing to knowledge capture and innovations
Key requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (IET/InstMC/CIWEM) or working towards
- Significant experience delivering process plant systems in water/wastewater projects
- Experience with digital design, design and construct projects
- Experience with AutoCAD, AutoDesk Plant 3D, and Common Data Environments
