As Civil Engineer, you contribute to UK water-sector projects that improve environment and communities. You will deliver civil, hydraulic, and structural designs across feasibility, design, construction, and commissioning, working with cross-functional teams to achieve sustainable outcomes. The role emphasizes collaboration, whole-life carbon considerations, and delivering on-time, within-budget solutions. Responsibilities

  • Prepare outline and detailed civil engineering designs and calculations (civil, hydraulic, structural)
  • Produce technical and commercial specifications, design reports and schedules
  • Develop and mark up models and drawings
  • Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop practical and safe solutions across design, construction, commissioning and operation
  • Consider whole-life carbon and circular economy in designs for sustainability
  • Conduct site and asset surveys to inform design requirements
  • Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Geotechnical and Structural designers to ensure on-programme, within-budget, quality designs
  • Manage interfaces and integration of civil design with other disciplines
  • Engage with the client and adopt a one-team approach to supporting their aims

Key requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Working towards IEng / CEng with a relevant Engineering Institution
  • Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
  • Methodical problem-solving approach
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the operational region
