Overview

As an Assistant Property Manager in Howdens’ Trade Property team, you will support day-to-day estate management for a large depot portfolio across the Northwest and Midlands. You’ll liaise with landlords, agents and tenants to optimise outgoings and ensure compliant lease and service charge management. You will be a bridge between landlords and the Trade Division, handling property matters quickly and accurately. The role offers exposure to all aspects of commercial property management within a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day estate management and support for the depot portfolio
  • Liaise with landlords, managing agents, tenants, solicitors, surveyors and third parties to minimise outgoings
  • Act as liaison between portfolio landlords and the Trade Division and support across property matters
  • Handle licences for alterations to leasehold documentation to ensure lease compliance
  • Monitor and manage service charges to minimise legal/financial liabilities
  • Investigate property rating valuations to protect business rates liabilities
  • Assist in disposal of surplus trade property to mitigate costs
  • Maintain accurate management information in databases

Key requirements

  • Experience in property, estate management or commercial property environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and effective communication with landlords, agents and partners
  • Understanding of property legislation
  • Excellent administrative, organisational and data management skills
  • Proactive, commercially aware and keen to learn
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel and a full UK driving licence (essential)
