Overview

As a Project Engineer at Abbott Witney, you will lead the introduction and validation of bespoke automated machines to support biosensor manufacturing. You’ll work cross-functionally to define validation strategies, manage risks, and communicate with stakeholders. Your role directly enables production readiness and machine inspection capabilities, while developing deep technical expertise. You will shape validation methods and mentor others, contributing to state-of-the-art automation in healthcare. Responsibilities

  • Create a project plan considering timelines, risks and stakeholder communication
  • Own the validation strategy for new and existing production machines
  • Deliver validated machines into Production and ensure they meet testing criteria for medical device production
  • Develop and execute validation tests, becoming a subject matter expert
  • Lead project management, mentor cross-functional teams, and manage supplier interactions
  • Occasionally visit supplier sites to support equipment deployment and validation

Key requirements

  • HNC in Engineering (degree preferred)
  • Proven Project Engineering experience with Automated Machinery
  • Technical project management experience
  • Problem-solving passion
  • Curiosity, technical rigour, and continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong documentation discipline
