Overview

As a junior Banking & Finance solicitor in Cardiff, you will contribute to a high-caliber practice handling diverse loan-based transactions. You will work closely with senior lawyers on cross-border and cross-functional matters for lenders and borrowers across sport, renewables, real estate and public sector. You’ll draft and issue security and loan documents, manage conditions precedent, and support deal progression from sanction to completion. The role blends hands-on experience with a supportive, team-driven culture at a top national firm. Responsibilities

  • Draft loan agreements and security documentation
  • Manage conditions precedent and assist with drawdown processes
  • Liaise with clients to progress transactions from credit sanction to completion
  • Collaborate with corporate, commercial, property and construction teams on cross-department matters
  • Support post-completion tasks and transaction management
  • Engage in business development activities and client events

Key requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales), NQ-2 PQE
  • Experience in banking and finance preferred; strong transactional experience acceptable
  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, positive approach
