Overview
As a Quantitative Analyst at Kpler, you will build and maintain data-driven models to forecast dry bulk freight movements and ton-mile demand. You’ll own research ideas and develop analytical tools that leverage Kpler data and external sources to deliver insights to analysts and clients. Your work expands the dry freight forecasting capability and supports cross-functional product development. You will translate complex outputs into actionable guidance, with a focus on scalable, automated forecasting systems. This is a mission-driven role in a collaborative, international team shaping market understanding.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and maintain time series forecasting models for freight rate movements and ton-mile demand
- Build automated, reproducible analysis systems for freight market forecasting
- Originate and own research ideas that advance Kpler’s dry bulk freight offering
- Collaborate with engineers and product owners to enhance freight market data and analytical tools
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for future development of freight research capabilities
- Translate complex quantitative outputs into actionable insights for analysts and clients
- Ensure model performance through ongoing monitoring, validation, and iteration
Key requirements
- Experience developing and maintaining time series forecasting models for freight rate movements
- Some programming in Python, R, or a JVM-based language
- Ability to translate quantitative outputs into actionable insights
- Good sense of ownership and pragmatic problem-solving
- Fluent in English with strong cross-cultural collaboration
