Overview

As a Methodology Model SME within the Structured Finance team, you enable analysts to produce high-quality, transparent credit analysis by building and maintaining quantitative tools. You will collaborate with Model and Criteria SMEs to expand the portfolio of analytic models across global asset types. Your work synthesizes large datasets, develops innovative analytics, and supports data capabilities across the SF group. This role offers a steep learning curve, cross-functional exposure, and potential growth through impactful research and modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain nimble quantitative solutions used by credit analysts worldwide
  • Synthesize large datasets to derive insights for credit analyses and publications
  • Identify and implement creative improvements to models and workflows
  • Provide analytical guidance for complex problems and coordinate with analysts and SMEs
  • Collaborate with Model and Criteria Validation to ensure high-quality products
  • Create clear development specifications and documentation
  • Support criteria projects, including data gathering and material preparation
  • Coach junior developers on technical tasks and best practices

Key requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in quantitative modeling or software development supporting financial analysis
  • Knowledge of capital markets and credit risk modeling preferred
  • SQL knowledge and experience with Oracle, Sybase, or Access databases
  • Proficiency in Excel/VBA and programming languages (R, Python, C++, MATLAB)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and across diverse teams
