Binding Authorities Broker

Overview

In this role you will own and expand an international delegated authority portfolio, negotiating binder facilities with London Market insurers and developing relationships across overseas markets. You will collaborate with MGAs, coverholders and international intermediaries to drive growth while maintaining autonomy within an entrepreneurial team. The role focuses on structuring delegated authority programmes tailored to client needs and expanding facilities. This is an opportunity to shape a growing independent broker’s binder portfolio and deliver a seamless client experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow an international delegated authority portfolio
• Negotiate and place binder facilities with London Market insurers
• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, MGAs, coverholders and overseas brokers
• Structure and place delegated authority programmes tailored to client requirements
• Identify opportunities to expand existing facilities and develop new business
• Collaborate with internal technical and operational teams for a seamless client experience
• Stay updated on market developments, underwriting appetite and opportunities

Key requirements

• Proven experience placing and managing international delegated authority business within the London Market
• Background in any non-marine class of business
• Strong relationships with London Market insurers and delegated authority underwriters
• Commercially minded with ability to identify and develop new opportunities
• Comfortable working autonomously within a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
• Experience with binder relationships across US Territories is advantageous but not essential
