Overview

In this role you will establish and mature WPP’s Enterprise Technology Risk function, leading risk management and governance across technology, security, and business teams. You’ll build and guide a growing team of risk SMEs and push a data-led, automation-first approach. You’ll translate complex risks into actionable insights for senior stakeholders and drive continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners to enhance visibility and control in a multinational environment, shaping the technology risk program for scale and resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and mature the technology risk management framework and processes
  • Facilitate risk assessments, scenario analysis, and risk-based decision making
  • Maintain risk registers, issue management, and remediation tracking
  • Produce management reports, dashboards and risk insights for executives
  • Lead automation, analytics, and workflow optimization to improve risk management
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Security, Risk & Controls, Controls Assurance, Internal Audit, and Legal
  • Provide guidance to risk and control owners
  • Develop Data & Technology Controls framework and governance artefacts
  • Support ET transformation programmes, M&A/divestments, and governance changes
  • Recruit, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Technology Risk team across India and the UK
  • Establish operating rhythms, quality standards, and performance expectations

Key requirements

  • Strong experience in Technology Risk, IT Risk, Cyber Risk, Technology Governance, Assurance or IT Audit
  • Experience in large, complex or multinational technology environments
  • Solid understanding of technology controls, ITGCs, cloud, infrastructure, identity, service management and resilience
  • Experience developing risk reporting and leadership insight
  • Ability to simplify complex technical topics for diverse audiences
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
  • Experience improving processes through automation, analytics, workflow platforms or AI-enabled approaches
