Commercial Asset Manager, BESS

Overview

In this role you will maximise revenues and manage risk across a growing portfolio of BESS and solar assets for a renewable energy investor/developer. You will work within the UK team to optimise contracts and market structures, monitor market developments, and drive performance with operators and O&M partners. The position offers exposure to PPAs, CfDs, Capacity Market and ancillary services in a dynamic market. You will contribute to shaping asset strategy within a mission-driven renewables business.

Responsibilities

• Optimise revenues across PPAs, CfDs, Capacity Market and BESS ancillary services
• Manage offtake agreements and support trading and route-to-market strategies
• Monitor UK power market developments and assess impact on asset performance
• Own asset budgets, forecasts, financial analysis and performance reporting
• Collaborate with O&M providers to improve operational and commercial performance
• Manage contractual, regulatory and commercial risks across the portfolio

Key requirements

• 4+ years’ experience within renewable energy, energy markets or asset management
• Strong understanding of UK power markets, solar PPAs and BESS revenue streams
• Experience with commercial contracts, including PPAs, CfDs and optimisation agreements
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
• Commercially astute with excellent stakeholder management capabilities
