Project Building Surveyor – Cities & Places

Overview

In this role you will deliver expert building surveying services across the Midlands for public and private sector clients. You will lead surveys, produce reports and specifications, and coordinate teams to support school refurbishments and university capital works. You will apply your technical knowledge to ensure safety, quality, and cost efficiency while driving net zero carbon initiatives. You’ll work with cross-functional teams and receive mentoring as you progress towards APC in a flexible hybrid setup.

Responsibilities

• Complete building surveys for assessment and defect diagnosis
• Prepare professional reports and specifications
• Produce technical drawings using CAD tools
• Ensure health, safety, and quality compliance
• Apply technical expertise to resolve complex issues
• Support tenders and fee proposals
• Collaborate with internal and external teams
• Drive net zero carbon initiatives

Key requirements

• Degree in construction or related discipline
• Strong knowledge of materials, technology, and defect diagnosis
• Proficient in AutoCAD and specification writing
• Experience in contract administration and tender preparation
