Senior Mental Health Practitioner

Overview

As Clinical Lead for the Shropshire region, you will steer a Psychologist/ MH Practitioner-led team within a specialist CSE service. You’ll help renew and embed a trauma-informed, relational model of care across residential homes and schools, guiding assessments, interventions, and staff development. You’ll work with National Clinical Lead and regional peers to shape the service, while maintaining direct work with young people where appropriate. Responsibilities

• Lead a small multi-professional team (Psychologist, Mental Health Practitioner, Assistant Psychologist)
• Develop and implement a clinical model and culture of relational, trauma-informed, strengths-based practice
• Provide line management oversight and supervision
• Oversee psychological assessments, risk assessments, and formulation-based plans
• Lead team-based formulations and clinical plans
• Support translation of plans into practice within residential care settings and schools
• Collaborate with National Clinical Lead and regional peers to embed the model
• Coordinate with education, care professionals, families and wider systems around each young person
• Contribute to service development during a period of renewal and review
• Hold a small caseload for direct work with young people when needed

Key requirements

• Current UK professional registration
• Experience in a senior clinical role within mental health or related fields
• Proven line management and supervision experience
• Ability to lead development of psychological assessment/interventions
• Experience with risk assessments and structured professional judgment
• Experience working with young people at risk of or with lived experience of sexual exploitation
• Knowledge of trauma-informed and relational practice approaches
