Senior Consultant / Principal Consultant – Digital Buildings Integration – Birmingham, London & Manchester

Overview

In this role you lead client-side delivery of digital buildings and technology projects within occupier and workplace fit-out environments. You’ll align IT, building systems and operational readiness with construction priorities, guiding cross-functional teams to meet scope, budget and schedule. You drive early issue resolution and clear governance while shaping the delivery approach across technology interfaces. The role offers impact by integrating property, workplace, and technology outcomes and advancing the Building Integration capability.

Responsibilities

• lead IT, workplace-technology and digital-buildings projects from initiation to close-out
• manage scope, programme, budget, risks and dependencies with clear governance
• align technology milestones with construction, fit-out and operational-readiness activities
• identify blockers early and drive proportionate resolution
• produce concise reporting on progress, financial health, risk and decisions for sponsors and stakeholders
• coordinate designers, contractors, vendors and technical resources delivering networks, cabling, AV and related infrastructure
• manage interfaces between IT infrastructure, smart-building and OT systems within the delivery programme
• support testing, commissioning, handover and operational readiness
• lead or contribute to technology-procurement activity and supplier coordination
• build relationships with clients and partners while ensuring accountability for outcomes
• mentor colleagues and share learning to raise delivery standards
• contribute to proposals, client relationships and proposition development

Key requirements

• experience leading client-side technology or IT-infrastructure delivery in commercial occupier or fit-out environments
• track record of managing scope, programme, budget, risks and stakeholders on complex projects
• practical experience of networks, cabling, telecommunications, cloud or on-premises environments and AV systems
• ability to coordinate IT infrastructure with smart-building and OT interfaces
• strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• proactive, resourceful approach to risk and decision-making
• recognised project-management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, APM PMQ or AgilePM) or equivalent delivery experience
• experience in client-side advisory/assurance role or with technology integrators/contractors
