Overview
As Purchasing Manager, you will lead and develop the purchasing team within a growing, cross-functional business. You will oversee procurement activities, supplier performance, and stock planning to safeguard product availability and delivery. You’ll drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and ERP systems, partnering with operations, logistics, sales and finance to meet strategic goals. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the purchasing team to build a high-performing culture
- Oversee purchasing activities and supplier performance
- Manage inventory levels and stock planning to meet business requirements
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Monitor lead times, service levels and cost performance
- Support import and logistics activities as needed
- Analyze purchasing and inventory data to support decisions
- Implement process improvements across procurement operations
- Collaborate with operations, logistics, sales and finance
- Produce reports, KPIs and management information for planning
- Contribute to broader business projects and ERP/system optimisation
Key requirements
- Experience in Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager or Supply Chain Manager roles
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Experience managing supplier relationships and procurement strategies
- Inventory management and stock control experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong organizational and prioritisation skills
- Comfort with data, reporting and performance metrics
- Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
