Overview

In this role you will help lead Capital Investment projects within AECOM’s Infrastructure Project Management team, focusing on water-related schemes across the UK regions. You’ll coordinate from inception to commissioning, working with senior leaders and clients to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery. You’ll engage stakeholders, manage risks and contract administration, and mentor juniors. This is a chance to contribute to flood risk and asset management initiatives that protect communities and environments while advancing your project leadership career.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or be part of project teams to deliver capital investment water projects
  • Provide client-side project management support across all lifecycle stages (option studies, tender, NEC administration, on-site delivery)
  • Attend meetings, minuting, and contributing to plans, progress reports, and procurement strategies
  • Engage clients, contractors and stakeholders to deliver within agreed parameters and resolve disputes
  • Manage project team resources, timescales and quality, and develop client relationships
  • Support business development with existing and new clients
  • Support contract management on NEC4 contracts and tender reviews
  • Mentor Graduates and Apprentices

Key requirements

  • Infrastructure project management experience in the water industry
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts (PSC and ECC) and ideally NEC ECC accreditation
  • Experience working in integrated, multi-organisation teams
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Relationship-building with clients, teams, and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with Senior Project Managers and Associates
  • Team player with proactive, flexible attitude
  • Strong IT skills, numeracy and written/verbal communication capabilities
