Overview
In this role you will lead laboratory operations to enable the cardiovascular development and regeneration research with IDRM and DPAG. You will ensure efficient lab functionality, safety compliance, and effective management of equipment, reagents, and staff training. You will support ongoing research through data handling and resource planning, collaborating with cross-functional teams across the cardiovascular theme. The position is a fixed-term, full-time post starting 01 October 2026, with on-site presence and a strong emphasis on safety, governance, and research support.

Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth day-to-day laboratory operations and scheduling
- Maintain safety standards and regulatory compliance across the lab
- Manage equipment, reagents, and consumables inventory
- Induct and train new and existing staff, including animal work where relevant
- Support ongoing research activities and experimental workflows
- Maintain and work with databases, spreadsheets and finance systems for budgeting and reporting
- Contribute to lab governance, procurement, and best practice in laboratory health and safety
Key requirements
- PhD in a relevant scientific field
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- proven hands-on laboratory experience
