Overview

As Principal Structural Engineer in our Building Structures team, you will lead mid-to-large projects from concept to handover, delivering quality on time and within budget. You’ll guide a multidisciplinary team, engage directly with clients, and apply advanced structural design and VE techniques to sustainable building schemes. Responsibilities

  • Control commercial, managerial and technical aspects of projects
  • Source opportunities and prepare fee proposals for clients
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians on building infrastructure schemes
  • Perform structural analyses and calculations for projects
  • Supervise work to meet technical standards, programme and budget
  • Lead by example in value engineering and modern computational methods
  • Provide high-level VE-led technical expertise for building design projects
  • Ensure quality, environmental and sustainability considerations are addressed throughout delivery

Key requirements

  • Chartered Engineer with extensive structural engineering experience
  • Experience leading projects and dealing directly with clients
  • Track record across sectors (Defence, Justice, Education, Commercial, Healthcare, etc)
  • Experience from concept to completion and sustainable design delivery
  • Knowledge of governing design standards (Eurocodes, Building Regulations, BS)
  • UK SC clearance or ability to obtain; ideally single UK nationality
  • Graduate in Structural Engineering or equivalent; Chartered status preferred
