In this role you will lead the specification, design, and integration of complex electrical systems for high-performance automotive and motorsport platforms. You will own system architecture, drive technical delivery, and mentor junior engineers within a cross-functional team. Expect to shape electrical solutions from concept to release under tight timelines, collaborating with mechanical, aero, and vehicle dynamics colleagues. You will work to ensure engineering excellence while delivering parts and systems that meet cost and mass targets. Responsibilities
- Lead design and release of electrical systems and sub-systems (e.g., wiring harnesses, sensors, control units, power distribution, communication networks)
- Gather and translate project requirements into formal specifications and engineering reports
- Define system architectures, interfaces, and integration strategies with cross-functional teams
- Produce and verify schematics, harness drawings, and 3D routings using Siemens Capital and NX
- Own parts from concept to release, managing DFMEA, DVP, BOMs, cost, and mass targets
- Collaborate with planning, procurement, suppliers and manufacturing to deliver parts to spec, on time, and first time
- Support vehicle build, test, commissioning, fault finding, and rapid issue resolution
- Coach and review junior engineers and drive continuous process/tool improvements
Key requirements
- Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical system design for motorsport, automotive, aerospace, or high-performance sectors
- Strong understanding of low-voltage automotive electrical systems and protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
- Expertise in wiring harness design, routing, and system packaging
- Proficiency with Siemens Capital and Siemens NX
- Working knowledge of industry quality and safety standards
- Proven ability to deliver under tight deadlines in high-pressure environments
