Overview
In this role you drive data-enabled acquisition for The Economist’s B2C subscriptions. You collaborate with marketing, product and finance to measure media effectiveness, optimize traffic and conversions, and improve Customer Lifetime Value. You’ll lead a multi-disciplinary data roadmap and mentor a team of data professionals to deliver commercial impact. This is a high-visibility position shaping strategy through analytics, insights and trusted stakeholder partnerships.

Responsibilities
- Commercial exploitation of data to improve B2C acquisition performance
- Own and prioritise data/analytics roadmap for marketing and customer acquisition
- Lead, develop and coach a data team to deliver impactful insights
- Act as trusted adviser to stakeholders, communicating findings and options clearly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (BI, Data Science & AI, Data Engineering, BA, Data Governance, Research) to align on goals
- Support shaping business strategy with data-enabled decision-making
- Measure and improve ROAS, CRO, traffic volumes, conversion rates and CLTV across websites and apps
Key requirements
- Commercial application of data and analytics to deliver measurable outcomes
- Experience across analytics and insight disciplines; proficient with established methodologies and emerging technologies
- Strong understanding of analyzing complex multi-channel data sets across platforms
- SQL expert; Python and/or R experience preferred
- Experience with cloud data platforms, web analytics tools, BI tools (e.g., Tableau)
- Experience with marketing data integration (e.g., Supermetrics), MMM models, CDP (e.g., Blueconic), A/B testing and causal inference
- People management and coaching; ability to inspire and set high standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to influence cross-functional teams
