Head of Finance

Overview

In this role you will lead the finance function within a growing FMCG business, guiding a team of five and partnering with Directors on strategic decisions. You will deliver accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and robust governance while driving process improvements. Your commercial insight will support growth plans and enhance financial control across the organisation. This is a senior, hands-on position that shapes financial strategy and performance in a market-leading company.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and manage a team of five professionals
• Produce management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis
• Provide insightful financial reporting to support strategic decision making
• Ensure strong financial governance and controls
• Drive process improvements and implement changes
• Communicate financial information effectively to non-finance stakeholders
• Balance strategic and operational responsibilities with hands-on leadership

Key requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA)
• Experience leading a finance function in manufacturing, retail, or FMCG
• Proven ability to produce management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis
• Strong people leadership and development of finance teams
• ERP/accounting systems knowledge with advanced Excel
• Commercially focused with influence over senior stakeholders
• Proactive, hands-on approach and ability to drive change
• Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with non-finance stakeholders
