Assistant Site Manager

Overview

In this role you support the Site/Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee timber frame construction on a greenfield site in Leicester. You will help manage budgets, schedules, resources and teams while liaising with partners, customers and contractors to maintain quality and compliance. You’ll contribute to a safety-first culture on a large timber frame project and work with in-house manufacturing to ensure timely delivery. This role offers progression across multiple Vistry developments and values collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning, coordination and supervision of construction from start to finish
• Support budget, schedule, resources and team management to meet targets
• Liaise with partners, customers, contractors and stakeholders
• Handle risks, issues, and compliance throughout the build
• Attend and support weekly site meetings and maintain site documentation
• Oversee quality control, inspections and snagging for trades and materials
• Coordinate with utilities, trades and suppliers for timely materials delivery
• Maintain site presentation, inductions and adherence to safety practices
• Support site manager in corrective actions and risk management

Key requirements

• Experience on new build projects
• Experience in health and safety management
• Knowledge of timber frame build process and sequence
• Customer-facing communication/presentation skills
• Ability to support safe, methodical project delivery
• Knowledge of building legislation and environmental obligations
• Desirable: NVQ Level 3/4/5 in Building Construction, or CIOB, and relevant certificates
