Overview
In this role you drive the delivery of high-quality fire safety within Airbus sites, improving operating efficiency and expanding the safety-focused portfolio. You will lead the development and implementation of company-wide fire safety policies, coordinating with Property Teams and regulators to ensure compliance. You’ll manage risk assessments, incident reporting, training, and continuous improvement across the Filton site footprint and future regional sites. This is a hands-on leadership position at the core of safety, governance and site operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure legal compliance with statutory fire safety regulations and applicable procedures across properties.
- Develop, implement and monitor safety policies, strategies, and annual action plans.
- Undertake and monitor Fire Risk Assessments with timely action plans; coordinate remedial actions.
- Own fire/local authority enforcement action plans and ensure timely completion.
- Develop and deliver training and communication on fire safety to staff and leadership.
- Maintain and analyse incident data, audits, and prepare management reports and safety alerts.
- Prepare monthly fire safety reports for the Director; contribute to Safety Committee activities.
- Liaise with Environmental Health & Safety and insurance providers; support incident investigations and RIDDOR reporting.
- Manage fire risk assessment programs and ensure robust systems for compliance across all assets.
- Assist in procurement of contractors for fire safety work and oversee delivery of fire safety projects.
- Develop fire safety awareness programs for customers and staff; provide technical advice across the contract.
- Support the development of the company strategy and participate in initiatives to improve safety and operations.
- Close monitoring and management of direct/indirect costs to maximise efficiency and margins.
Key requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in property management or similar sector.
- Right to Work in the UK; full clean UK driving licence.
- Fire safety qualification (NEBOSH Fire Certificate or IFE Level 3/4) and health and safety qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent).
- Membership of a recognized professional body (IFE, IOSH, IIRSM) with CPD evidence.
- Experience in managing or advising on fire safety in a medium to large organisation.
- Experience developing policy and strategy to meet business requirements; investigations into incidents or breaches with timely reporting.
