Overview
In this greenfield role, you join a top-tier trading firm to design and deliver high-performance FPGA platforms for latency-critical workloads. You will own architecture and implementation on large FPGAs, collaborating with software and ASIC teams to extend platforms and enable high-throughput I/O. Expect to optimize speed, area, and power while building robust testbenches and tooling. This is a rare chance to shape the foundation of a dedicated FPGA function with long-term impact in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Design high-performance, resource-efficient FPGA architectures
- Work on high-speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, etc.) and external memory
- Translate high-level specs into RTL with synthesis in mind
- Collaborate with ASIC and software teams on integrated platform development
- Contribute to internal tooling and methodology refinement
- Build testbenches and validation flows (Cocotb, Verilator); apply formal methods as needed
Key requirements
- Deep experience in Verilog or SystemVerilog
- Strong understanding of FPGA internals and hardware structuring
- Experience with large-scale designs (high throughput, multi-clock domains, deep pipelines)
- Familiarity with high-speed interfaces (Ethernet, USB 3.1, Fibre Channel)
- Experience balancing timing, area, and power trade-offs
- Familiarity with test/verification methodologies (Cocotb preferred)
- collaborative mindset
- ownership and autonomy
- agile team collaboration
- Verilog/SystemVerilog
- FPGA architecture and timing closure
- high-speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet)
