Lead Technical Program Manager, AI Platform

Overview

As Lead Technical Program Manager for AI Platform, you will build and lead the TPM function for Wayve’s data and compute infrastructure, model-development tooling, and embedded/inference optimization. You partner with Engineering leadership to deliver high-impact platform initiatives that accelerate model training and deployment. You’ll lead flagship programs, mentor a small TPM team, and drive developer velocity, compute efficiency, and cost-aware performance across the platform.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow a small TPM team, hiring to raise the bar
• Own platform delivery across data & compute infra, tooling, training tech, compute management, and embedded/inference optimization
• Maintain partnerships with engineering leaders to land big outcomes with high leverage
• Drive flagship programs directly in data & compute infrastructure and tooling
• Establish scalable practices: planning cadences, governance, KPIs and dashboards, escalation and reviews
• Align cross-functionally with ML/research, infrastructure, embedded/on-vehicle, engineering and cloud/vendor partners; manage dependencies and trade-offs
• Represent AI Platform in company reviews, tying delivery to developer velocity, compute efficiency, cost, and training/inference performance

Key requirements

• 8+ years in platform/infrastructure delivering platform or infrastructure programs as a TPM
• People leadership: building and growing high-performing teams
• Highly technical with credibility across ML infra, compute, and embedded systems
• Strong understanding of ML, GPUs, and training/inference of large models (500M-20B+)
• Embedded/on-vehicle systems experience: edge inference optimization and hardware/software trade-offs
• Familiar with compute management and ML platform tooling: Kubernetes, Ray, Flyte, Docker, cloud (Azure), Python
• Proficient with AI Agents to accelerate execution (e.g., Cursor, Claude, Codex)
• Effective in ambiguous, fast-moving environments; strong cross-functional leadership
• Systems thinking to model platform interactions and ripple effects
• Product-minded with focus on outcomes and measurable impact
