Overview
In this freelance Site Manager role, you will oversee day-to-day site operations for a social housing fire safety project. You will lead fire safety and remediation work, manage internal and external packages, and coordinate subcontractors to meet programme and quality targets. You will maintain strong health and safety standards, liaise with residents and stakeholders, and keep thorough site records. This long-term contract offers ownership of daily delivery and a meaningful impact on resident safety and building compliance.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of site operations
- Overseeing fire safety and fire remediation works
- Managing internal and external work packages
- Coordinating subcontractors
- Ensuring works align with programme and quality requirements
- Maintaining health & safety standards on site
- Carrying out site inspections and maintaining records
- Liaising with residents, client representatives and other stakeholders
- Managing RAMS, permits, inductions and toolbox talks
- Monitoring progress and reporting against programme
- Maintaining accurate records and using IT systems
- Minimising disruption to residents
Key requirements
- SMSTS
- CSCS Card
- First Aid at Work
- Previous Site Management experience
- Experience within social housing / occupied properties
- Experience managing fire safety, fire remediation or compliance works
- Experience managing both internal and external works
- Strong health & safety knowledge
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good IT skills (email, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, site/project management systems)
- Experience with fire doors, compartmentation, passive fire protection, external remediation (advantageous)
