Overview
As a Project Surveyor, you will manage the commercial aspects of planned works across social housing projects, ensuring time, budget, and quality targets. You’ll work in a fast-paced, client-facing environment, liaising with internal stakeholders and high-profile clients to keep programmes on track. You will shape financial reporting, risk handling, and contract administration to deliver value and transparency. The role offers exposure to kitchens, bathrooms, externals, and roofing works within social housing stock. You will contribute to shaping efficient, compliant maintenance programmes aligned with the company’s standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial aspects from mobilisation to final account for planned works projects
- Prepare, monitor, and report on budgets, forecasts, and cost plans
- Procure subcontractors and suppliers, including tendering, negotiation, and contract administration
- Value works accurately and manage payment applications and cost reconciliation
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Support operational teams to deliver schemes within financial targets
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, clients, and subcontractors for alignment
- Produce and present regular commercial reports to senior stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, contracts, and industry standards
Key requirements
- Proven experience as Project Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor in social housing planned works
- Experience managing programmes including kitchens, bathrooms, externals, and roofing
- Experience with high-profile clients and professional relationship-building
- Strong knowledge of cost control, reporting, and contract management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
