Overview
In this role you will lead electrical engineering work within a growing Central London consultancy, supporting high-end retail and hotel projects. You will report to a director and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver design, coordination, and technical documentation. The position offers exposure to senior mentorship and the opportunity to shape project outcomes across multiple schemes. You will contribute to maintaining quality standards and technical excellence while expanding the office’s capabilities in a fast‑moving market.
Responsibilities
- Run engineering projects from conception to delivery
- Lead client-facing design and coordination of building services
- Design and specify electrical systems and equipment
- Develop concepts and evaluate electrical options
- Present proposals to clients and design teams
- Brief and coordinate design office engineers; guide CAD resources
- Review deliverables for briefing compliance and quality
- Prepare specifications and co‑ordinate documentation
- Sign-off drawings, calculations, and schedules
- Ensure document control and adherence to quality standards
- Support development of office technical standards
- Possibly travel for overseas design meetings
Key requirements
- 3+ years UK consultancy experience
- Industry relevant degree
- Longevity in previous roles
- Experience with retail/hotel projects is advantageous
- Client-facing communication
- Team coordination and liaison with architects, PMs, and engineers
- Problem solving and technical advisory
- Electrical building systems design and specification
- Development of electrical concepts and solutions
