Overview

In this role you lead on-site commissioning for major M&E systems on a central London commercial/mixed-use development, coordinating with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure thorough inspection, testing and commissioning to project specs and safety standards. You shape commissioning procedures, manage equipment, and maintain trackers and documentation, supporting handover and risk assessments. The position sits within a large, established MEP subcontractor delivering complex projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe. You will partner with clients, engineers and architects to drive quality and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full commissioning process and deliver operational M&E systems to clients
  • Develop and implement commissioning procedures aligned with project requirements
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades for efficient commissioning workflows
  • Attend meetings with clients and project teams to provide updates and technical support
  • Identify and manage testing equipment
  • Support ITCA activities and maintain project trackers
  • Assist Project Engineers with handover packs, QA/QC docs, inspections and incident reports
  • Oversee subcontractor testing and commissioning, including document reviews
  • Contribute to RAMS development and review for commissioning and testing
  • Support production of as-built documentation and Health & Safety File
  • Conduct quality inspections during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases
  • Resolve deficiencies promptly and maintain progress reporting to stakeholders
  • Lead on-site commissioning reporting and stakeholder communication

Key requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of the commissioning process and leadership responsibilities
