Electrical Critical Systems Engineer

Overview

You join the Critical Systems team to deliver innovative electrical design solutions for large-scale data centre projects. You will work within a multidisciplinary group, driving technically excellent and commercially strong outcomes while mentoring junior engineers. Your role combines design production, reviews, and client-facing communication, with hands-on involvement in budgets and programmes. The opportunity offers exposure to world-class projects and a path to grow specialist expertise in resilient, energy-efficient data centre design.

Responsibilities

• deliver electrical design solutions for data centre projects
• produce design deliverables (schematics, layouts, calculations) and prepare specifications and reports
• monitor budgets and programmes, review designs, and communicate with project and client teams
• lead and support engineers, guiding less experienced colleagues
• participate in project meetings and site inspections/surveys
• develop detailed designs and contribute to multidisciplinary design collaboration
• maintain a proactive, problem-solving approach to guide the team to effective solutions

Key requirements

• degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng or BEng) or equivalent electrical design experience
• significant experience in electrical engineering, ideally within critical systems or data centres
• track record of managing small to medium-scale projects and leading small teams
• experience producing electrical designs and site surveys, plus project reporting
