Overview
In this Senior Delivery Director role, you will own end-to-end delivery of large, complex government IT programmes, ensuring on-time, on-budget outcomes and high client satisfaction. You’ll lead multi-programme portfolios (>£50m) across the full lifecycle and act as the executive escalation point for delivery challenges. You’ll develop trusted CXO relationships, shape strategic delivery, and drive commercial value and growth in public sector accounts. This is a high-impact, cross‑functional leadership position that combines governance, risk management, and continuous improvement to deliver measurable client outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale government portfolios (£30m+) with full accountability for delivery performance, governance, quality, and financial outcomes
- Oversee multiple concurrent programmes and projects ensuring alignment with client strategy and contracts
- Maintain a proactive, no-surprises delivery culture with forecasting, risk management, and transparent reporting
- Build and sustain senior-level government relationships (CXO/Director) and drive high client satisfaction
- Act as senior escalation point resolving complex commercial, operational, and delivery challenges
- Own programme financial performance including budget control, margins, forecasting, and cost modelling
- Manage contractual obligations across public sector contracting models and support pre-sales/bid activity
- Ensure robust governance, assurance, reporting frameworks, KPIs and risk/issue/change management
- Lead cross-disciplinary, distributed teams and foster continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
- Secure and mobilise resources in collaboration with Practices and Service Lines

- Proven track record delivering complex government programmes and portfolios >£50m
- Led large-scale transformation and policy-driven digital services
- Extensive experience engaging and influencing CXO-level stakeholders
- Successfully managed distributed, multi-supplier and client-side teams
- Advanced stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict resolution
- Strong commercial acumen including financial modelling and margin management
- Deep understanding of UK Government procurement and governance frameworks
- Practical experience with Agile, Scaled Agile, MSP, and hybrid delivery methodologies
- Ability to manage ambiguity and risk with a forward-looking, solution-oriented mindset
- Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC)
