Civil Engineer

Overview

As a Civil Engineer in our highways and infrastructure team, you will design and deliver infrastructure schemes for road projects and contribute to compliant, high-quality designs. You will build detailed 3D models, apply DMRB standards, and engage with clients and contractors to move projects forward. The role offers hands-on modelling with training and development to grow technical capabilities. Responsibilities

• Develop civil designs and infrastructure schemes for highways projects
• Prepare and review Section 278-related designs and highway works
• Create and manage detailed highway/infrastructure models using CAD/3D tools
• Apply DMRB standards to support compliant project delivery
• Perform technical calculations, design checks and assessments
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, contractors and stakeholders
• Produce technical drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation
• Develop practical engineering solutions with a focus on quality and accuracy

Key requirements

• Experience in civil engineering design within highways/infrastructure
• Strong understanding of highway design principles and infrastructure development
• Technical experience with CAD and 3D modelling (Flow and Site 3D if applicable)
• Knowledge of Section 278 highway agreements and design processes
• Understanding of DMRB standards and relevant highways guidance
• Enjoyment of hands-on technical design and modelling work
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn through structured training and practical project experience
