Overview

In this role you will lead data and AI assurance engagements within Grant Thornton’s Business Risk Services, guiding fieldwork from planning to reporting and ensuring quality. You’ll manage engagement finances, mentor junior staff, and build client relationships to support growth of the Data, AI & Analytics practice. You will contribute to governance-focused assurance work and help scale innovative analytics solutions. Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of data & AI engagements from planning through reporting under a Manager, ensuring quality and evidence
  • Support engagement planning (risk assessments, scoping, terms of reference, audit programmes) and lead planning on smaller/less complex assignments
  • Manage engagement finances (fee/cost forecasts, WIP, invoicing, debt) and provide regular updates to Manager
  • Conduct fieldwork (data analysis, control testing, discovery, maturity assessments) and review Associates’ work for quality and alignment with GT methodologies
  • Apply data & AI assurance expertise to identify risks and craft practical, proportionate recommendations
  • Present findings to client stakeholders, translating technical results into business implications
  • Provide on-the-job coaching to Associates to support their development
  • Build internal/external networks, explore cross-service line opportunities, and assist proposals/new business pitches
  • Contribute to development of the practice’s data & AI assurance methodology, tools, and use of automation/AI in delivery
  • Foster strong client/colleague relationships with a focus on professionalism, curiosity and quality

Key requirements

  • Professional qualification (CISA, AAIA, ACA, CA, ACCA, IIA) or working towards one, with audit experience
  • Experience delivering audit and assurance engagements
  • Practical experience evaluating data governance and data management frameworks (DAMA DMBOK, DCAM) against regulatory expectations
