Overview

As a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor at Turner & Townsend, you will contribute to major UK infrastructure programs by managing commercial and contractual performance. You’ll work within a team to deliver value-for-money through data-driven cost management and robust procurement. The role blends front-line contract work with strategic cost optimization, shaping project outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Manage and assist on commercial contracts, procurement, and NEC-based negotiations
  • Lead post-contract commercial activities including payments, cost assessments and contract changes
  • Provide data-driven cost management insights to support decisions
  • Identify cost-saving strategies and optimize contract performance
  • Promote commercial awareness and support dispute resolution and contract close-out strategy
  • Assist Project Managers with early warnings, instructions, and compensation events
  • Prepare cost reports and forecasts and support tender processes
  • Scrutinise interim payment applications and prepare certificates

Key requirements

  • Quantity Surveying & Estimating experience in large-scale infrastructure
  • Degree-qualified; working towards or holding chartered status
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and cost management best practices
  • Team player with proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to work across multiple projects and client environments
