Overview

As a Commissioning Engineer on Thames projects, you will lead MEICA commissioning delivery, ensuring alignment with project scope and client interfaces. You’ll develop and implement commissioning plans and strategies from design through takeover, coordinating with specialists and asset teams to integrate with existing systems. You will oversee testing, training, and documentation while maintaining safety and regulatory standards. This role offers exposure to high-profile water projects and a clear path to project takeover and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the Project Commissioning Plan and Strategy
  • Coordinate MEICA commissioning activities and testing oversight
  • Ensure commissioning documentation aligns with project scope and timelines
  • Interface with client Asset Operations Team to ensure asset integration
  • Ensure compliance with client specifications, Asset Standards, and WIMES
  • Organise supervision of Testing and Commissioning
  • Engage with DSEAR, Technical Authors, Document Controllers for early project alignment
  • Coordinate training content and supplier/subcontractor training as required
  • Agree and manage the project takeover deliverables list with client Asset Integrator
  • Ensure MEICA & Commissioning activities align with project resources and schedule

Key requirements

  • Strong experience in the water industry
  • Demonstrated site management and MEICA/Commissioning delivery
  • Ability to deliver MEICA & Commissioning through to takeover
  • Effective delivery to meet timelines and turnover milestones
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office for reports and presentations
  • Understanding of health, safety and environmental approaches
  • Understanding of water industry processes
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment in water sector
  • CSCS or ECS card in an appropriate discipline
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
  • SMSTS (preferred) with SSSTS (minimum)
  • First Aid at Work (preferred)
  • BS7671 – 18th Edition
  • Stakeholder management
