Commercial Lawyer – Thames Valley

Overview

In this role you will support a growing regional law firm’s commercial team by handling a diverse caseload for start-ups, entrepreneurs, charities, SMEs, and international subsidiaries. You will draft and negotiate commercial contracts, advise on IP, technology and data protection, and assist with corporate matters as needed. The position offers professional development through mentoring and progression as the department expands. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to business development efforts while building specialist expertise in a dynamic, tech-aware environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage an individual caseload and delegate work as appropriate
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts and licences
• Advise on intellectual property, technology and data protection issues
• Support corporate matters where required
• Develop tailored agreements for clients and maintain strong client relationships
• Represent the firm at networking and business development events
• Mentor and support junior colleagues

Key requirements

• Approximately 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience in commercial law
• Experience in private practice or in-house legal team
• Strong attention to detail and an organized, proactive approach
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
