Overview
As a Public Health Design Engineer, you help design and deliver public health systems across data centres, healthcare, education, and more. You work with multidisciplinary teams to create efficient, compliant solutions from concept to construction support. You contribute to innovative and sustainable approaches aligned with HDR’s mission to empower progress and better communities. This role offers the opportunity to influence critical infrastructure and the built environment, collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Designing public health systems
- Producing calculations, specifications, reports and technical drawings
- Coordinating designs with mechanical, electrical and structural engineers
- Liaising with design team for coordinated, compliant designs
- Contributing to design/project meetings
- Maintaining in-house design reviews and checks
- Supporting project delivery from feasibility through construction
- Engaging with clients, contractors and stakeholders to deliver outcomes
- Contributing to innovative and sustainable engineering approaches
Key requirements
- Degree level or equivalent is desired
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Minimum 3 years’ industry experience in a design consultancy
- Organise and direct production of CAD/Revit drawings
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Experience using Bluebeam, Revit and AutoCAD
- Positive, professional attitude with good team rapport
- Familiarity with design software relevant to public health projects
