Associate Director, Structural Engineer – Water

Overview

As an Associate Director, Structural Engineer with AECOM Water, you will lead structural design for a variety of water infrastructure projects, from below-ground pumping stations to large concrete structures. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary Water Team to deliver robust solutions, mentor colleagues, and maintain strong client relationships. The role combines technical leadership with project delivery, driving innovation and quality in complex assignments. This is a chance to influence AMP8 programmes and help uplift communities through essential water infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee detailed design activities for diverse structures
• Develop robust structural solutions and deliver on complex challenges
• Mentor team members and foster professional development
• Interface with other design disciplines and manage client communications
• Prepare and review drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports
• Sign-off project deliverables with a focus on quality and compliance

Key requirements

• Degree or equivalent in civil and structural engineering
• Membership or working towards membership of ICE or IStructE
• Experience in developing robust structural solutions and multidisciplinary delivery
• Experience in structural design to applicable standards and specs
• Strong collaboration and coordination skills with clients and stakeholders
• Passion for delivering technical solutions and leading technical teams
