As an Employment Law Solicitor in Cardiff, you will handle a mixed caseload across contentious and non-contentious matters for a diverse client base. Responsibilities
- Manage complex Employment Tribunal litigation from instruction to conclusion
- Draft pleadings, manage disclosure and prepare witness statements
- Advise on complex claims including discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair/constructive dismissal, equal pay, breach of contract and redundancy
- Conduct or support advocacy at preliminary hearings and settlement discussions
- Provide strategic guidance on disputes, risk management and settlement strategy
- Draft, negotiate and advise on employment contracts, service agreements, policies and handbooks
- Advise on internal HR processes (disciplinary, grievance, performance and capability)
- Support restructuring and redundancy exercises
- Assist with due diligence, warranties, indemnities and TUPE in corporate transactions
Key requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 5-8 years PQE
- Experience across both contentious and non-contentious employment law
- Ability to manage a varied caseload autonomously with minimal supervision
- Strong drafting experience (contracts, policies, settlement agreements)
- Experience managing Employment Tribunal cases from start to finish
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to build rapport and deliver high-quality client service
- Commercially minded with a practical, business-friendly approach
- Superior knowledge of UK employment legislation and case law
