Senior Procurement Officer

Overview

In this role you will drive the design and delivery of professional, compliant procurement and commissioning processes within a new Strategic Commissioning Service. You will collaborate across partners to secure safe, high-quality and value-for-money services, supporting compliant risk management and service transformation. Responsibilities

• Design, manage and deliver tendering processes to secure fit-for-purpose service provision
• Provide professional advice on commercial and procurement matters to support compliance and risk management
• Drive continuous improvement, service transformation and financial savings where feasible
• Collaborate across internal and external partners and stakeholders
• Support end-to-end commissioning cycle and contribute to value-for-money outcomes
• Embed new ways of working and promote a collaborative, supportive team culture
• Ensure procurement practices are compliant with current legislation and sector trends
• Contribute to market analysis, supplier development and contract management processes

Key requirements

• Experience in commissioning, public sector procurement or related discipline
• Proven project and programme management skills
• Up-to-date knowledge of procurement legislation, regulations and trends
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Evidence of applying ROI models, market analysis, benchmarking, supplier development, supply chain management, market management, evaluation models and contract management
