Sr. Technical Account Manager, Okta Strategic Customers

Overview

In this Senior TAM role, you partner with strategic enterprise customers to maximize Okta adoption and security outcomes. You will serve as the premier technical advisor, shaping roadmaps and guiding core IAM, IGA, and PAM initiatives. You’ll resolve complex technical escalations, mitigate risk, and influence product direction through cross-functional collaboration. This position offers high-impact work across Fortune-100 customers in security-conscious industries. You’ll operate at executive levels and drive meaningful, lasting value for customers and Okta.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage executive-level relationships with customer identity owners and IT leadership
• Architect tailored success plans to drive platform adoption and secure Okta against competitive displacement
• Guide expansions of Okta footprint across Workforce solutions and improve overall security posture
• Independently manage and resolve complex technical escalations with collaboration from CSMs
• Identify technical roadblocks, design mitigation plans, and drive to resolution
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Support to influence product direction
• Deliver workshops and best-practice sessions to enhance customer security
• Create repeatable technical strategies and assets for the global TAM organization
• Mentor and develop other TAMs to raise technical capabilities across the team

Key requirements

• 8+ years of related IT experience (or 6+ years with a Master’s)
• 3+ years of TAM, Technical Consultant, Solution Architect, or Product Manager experience
• 3+ years in Identity & Access Management (IAM) or related security tech
• BA/BS/MS in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline or equivalent
• Okta Certified, CISSP, or equivalent certifications preferred
• Strong knowledge of Okta architecture and enterprise integration
• Federation protocols experience (SAML 2.0, OAuth, OpenID Connect, WS-Fed)
• Hands-on provisioning and lifecycle management (SCIM, HR-driven provisioning, AD)
• Experience with SaaS ecosystems (O365, Salesforce, Workday, Box)
• Excellent executive communication and portfolio management skills
