Finance Director

Overview

In this Finance Director role, you will steer the financial planning and governance to support rapid growth in a founder-led tech/logistics SME. You’ll partner with the CEO to shape strategy, optimise performance, and drive cross-functional impact. You’ll lead a high-performing team, manage cash and risk, and translate complex financials into clear insights for stakeholders. This is a chance to influence scale and financial discipline at pace.

Pay / Benefits

• Salary 100,000–120,000

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies
• Develop strategies to optimise financial performance
• Provide detailed financial reports and insights to founder/CEO and stakeholders
• Lead, develop and mentor the finance team
• Manage cash flow, investments, and risk management
• Collaborate with other departments to align financial planning with operations
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives

Key requirements

• Established career as a Finance Director with no. 1 in finance function
• Experience in scaling, founder-led SME
• Proven budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
• Experience in managing and developing finance teams
• Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and compliance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
