Overview

Senior Employee Relations Advisor at Leonardo UK (Yeovil, Helicopter Division) leads UK ER and industrial relations activities, providing expert guidance to HR and People Leaders. Responsibilities

  • Lead on UK Employee & Industrial Relations activities and provide specialist guidance to HR and People Leaders
  • Collaborate with leaders to ensure compliance with UK Employment Legislation, Directives, and Codes of Practice; manage Transfer of Undertakings and collective bargaining matters
  • Establish relationships with Trade Union representatives and Employee Representatives; prepare documentation for negotiations and review collective agreements
  • Provide proactive ER case management across disciplinary, grievance, mediation, capability, performance, conduct, and absence matters
  • Develop and implement Employment Frameworks, Policies, Procedures, and Guidance across Leonardo UK
  • Ensure ER issues are addressed efficiently and remain compliant with Employment Frameworks and UK law
  • Coach and train People Leaders and Managers to build a trust-based ER environment aligned with company values
  • Maintain ER documents, files, and management information systems for effective governance
  • Act as escalation point for complex policy and process interpretation to ensure a fair work environment
  • Support a positive, equitable, and supportive workplace for all employees

Key requirements

  • Proven direct operational Employee Relations experience with a track record of resolving complex cases
  • Experience in an environment where collective labour relations are the norm
  • Excellent collaboration, consultative, negotiating, and communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of UK Employment Legislation, Directives, and Codes of Practice
  • Ability to build productive relationships across all levels and with external partners
  • CIPD qualified (minimum Level 5) with modules in Employee Relations and Employment Law
  • Experience working with ACAS and Employment Tribunal services
  • Regular engagement with Trade Union Representatives and Consultative Forums; coaching and mediation experience desirable
  • Confident, articulate influencer and communicator with presentation skills
  • Willingness to learn; not all listed experiences required
