Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services (MEP)

Overview

As a Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer in Stantec’s MEP team, you will lead electrical design within multi-disciplinary projects and help shape sustainable built environments. You’ll work with architects and other design specialists to deliver high-quality electrical and MEP solutions across diverse sectors. You will manage project scope, schedule, and budgets while mentoring junior engineers and driving innovation. Your role combines hands-on design with leadership to ensure delivery meets client goals and standards. Responsibilities

• Support multi-disciplinary projects from concept to delivery, engaging with clients to meet goals
• Lead project activities including team coordination, deliverables, resourcing, programme, and budget
• Develop and oversee electrical and MEP design concepts and detailed solutions
• Manage project teams to deliver detailed designs and required calculations
• Mentor junior engineers and support chartership pathways
• Drive innovation, process improvement, and technical excellence initiatives
• Assist with team management, resource planning, line management, and quality assurance
• Collaborate closely with architects and other design teams

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer in the UK with delivering electrical and MEP solutions
• Background across building sectors (healthcare, education, commercial, residential, industrial)
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and supporting chartership
• Familiarity with BIM processes and Revit
• Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
