Overview

As a Civil Engineer in our Water team, you will shape UK and international water infrastructure projects from feasibility through to delivery. You’ll collaborate with engineers, modellers and environmental scientists to create safe, buildable solutions for potable and wastewater systems. This role offers exposure to high-profile schemes and strong mentorship within a multidisciplinary, growth-focused environment. You’ll contribute to design excellence, on-site implementation, and client-facing project work that improves communities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, hydraulic modellers and environmental scientists to deliver multi-disciplinary solutions
  • Conduct technical and feasibility studies for potable, foul, surface water and attenuation needs
  • Engage in all design stages from feasibility to detailed design and prepare reports and technical specifications
  • Perform numerical analyses using advanced software to evaluate water and wastewater systems
  • Design water infrastructure components (treatment plants, pumps, pipe networks) with safety-focused design and Designer’s Risk Assessments
  • Gain on-site experience through site visits and project implementation
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to project and client management within a local team of civil engineers

Key requirements

  • Proven experience in the water sector within a consultancy
  • Experience in engineering assessments, options appraisals, calculations and/or economic appraisal
  • Working towards chartership or incorporated status (ICE, CIWEM, etc.)
  • Experience in outline and/or detailed design of wastewater/water treatment schemes or flood risk management/drainage
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
