Senior Civil Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Civil Engineer in Belfast, you will lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater projects for public and private clients, from feasibility to construction support and project management. You’ll mentor junior engineers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and act as a client liaison throughout projects. The role sits within a growing infrastructure team, contributing to sustainable infrastructure development and high-profile schemes. Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of water and wastewater projects
• Manage feasibility through detailed design, construction support, and project management
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Act as client liaison throughout project lifecycles
• Engage with clients, stakeholders and project partners to ensure objectives and budgets are met

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Chartered or near-chartered status (e.g. MICE)
• Significant experience in water/wastewater design and delivery
• Strong knowledge of drainage, pumping stations, pipelines, treatment plants
• Experience using design/modeling software (Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, InfoWorks ICM)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Track record in multidisciplinary teams delivering to programme and budget
