Global Process Owner (Payroll & Compliance)

Overview

In this role you own and evolve AVEVA’s global payroll processes to ensure compliant, efficient operations aligned with business goals. You will drive standardization, automation, and cross‑functional collaboration across HR, Finance and Legal. You lead governance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement to enhance payroll accuracy, timeliness and employee experience. This position offers impact at scale within a global software leader shaping payroll delivery and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the global payroll process framework (policies, standards, controls)
• Develop and execute a roadmap for payroll transformation (automation, vendor optimization, scalability)
• Ensure alignment with global HR, Finance, and Legal teams
• Monitor compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and internal controls
• Own documentation and audit readiness across payroll processes
• Lead continuous improvement to improve payroll accuracy and employee experience
• Establish and track KPIs and SLAs for payroll performance globally
• Drive standardization across regions with local flexibility
• Collaborate with regional payroll teams, People Technology, Finance, and external vendors
• Escalate complex payroll issues and communicate changes effectively
• Partner with People Technology and IT to optimize systems and integrations
• Evaluate and implement new technologies for payroll delivery and analytics
• Lead global payroll system risk mitigation including access governance and BCP development

Key requirements

• Proven experience in global payroll operations and process ownership
• Strong understanding of international payroll regulations and compliance
• Experience with payroll systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, ADP, Oracle)
• Ability to lead cross‑functional projects and influence stakeholders
• Analytical mindset with data‑driven decision making
• Excellent communication and change management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) with ability to present data outputs
